Akihibara is well known as the center of otaku culture, ie, nerd (video games, anime, comics) culture in Tokyo. Block after block of stores catering to those particular interest, its uniquely Japanese and unique to anywhere I've ever visited. Vibrant and singularly focused on catering to its audience, Akihibara is a great place for people watching.
